Communication and language:

At Little Owls children are exposed to a rich language environment; they are given many opportunities to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves;  and they are encouraged to speak and listen in a range of situations. Some of the ways we achieve this is by having a daily Story Time, regular Show and Tell sessions and providing exciting experiences for the children to talk to each other as well as the adults about.

Physical development:

At Little Owls we believe that Physical development is really important and that children should have the opportunity to get active running around both inside and outside.   As well as regular playground and park time, we also have specialist football classes led by our specialist Sports Teachers. In addition, children are encouraged to develop their co-ordination, control and movement through a range of lessons and games lead by their class teachers and are helped towards developing their fine motor skills ready to start using the three finger tripod grip for writing.

Personal, social and emotional development:

At Little Owls children are encouraged to develop a positive sense of themselves and others; to make special  friendships and to have respect for others; to practise their social skills and learn how to manage their feelings; to understand appropriate behavior in groups; and to have confidence in their own abilities.
