Afternoon Clubs

Afternoon School

Pupils of any age can attend the optional afternoon school, which happen on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Children bring a packed lunch to school and stay until 3.15 p.m. At the end of each term parents will be given a list of the themes planned for the following term. 

Please note afternoon school start the Tuesday after a school term begins. There are no afternoon classes in the last week of term.

This term our Afternoon classes included:

Understanding the World – In 'Understanding the World', children explore both their own and other people's cultures, whilst learning to understand and celebrate the similarites and differences in our diverse society.  Lessons include a carousel of activities such as cooking, art, craft, phonics and numeracy.

The Natural World - Being outdoors and bringing nature into the classroom, children achieve and develop confidence and self-esteems by experiencing structures and independent (child-led) learning. Lessons include a carousel of activites such as cooking, art, craft, phonics and numeracy inspired by nature and their time at our local Greenhouses and park visits.

Storybook Adventures -  From Pirates to Ballerinas, Stickmen to Gruffalos, books have whole worls inside them ready to explore!  Each week the children with their teachers will read a new book and bring to life the story in their lessons, strengthening their understanding between the spoken and written word. Lessons include a carousel of activities such as cooking, art, craft, phonics and numeracy.

Expressive Arts and Design - Finding out about, thinking about and working with colour, texture, shape, space and form in 2 and 3 dimension.  Children enjoy learning about different artists and their work.  At the end of the term the children are set to proudly host their very own private exhibition for their Mummy's and Daddy's!
